1/2 Day Yoga Retreat (£55) Suitable for ALL

Join us for a morning of peaceful restoration up in the beautiful space of The Yoga Loft.  The whole ethos of our Retreat morning is R&R (Rest and Relaxation) to restore the body and mind from the busy 21st Century Lifestyles we lead.

During our Retreat you’ll be introduced to all things Yoga and not just the physical yoga practice as we introduce you to breathing techniques, meditation and nutritious & healthy food and drinks.  A typical Retreat runs as follows

·         Herbal Tea on Arrival

·         Restorative Yoga Practice

·         Smoothie Snack/Stop

·         Introduction to our Physical Yoga Practice

·         Sound Healing/Therapy and Meditation usually with a 

          GONG BATH

·         Pranayama (Breathing Techniques)

·         Delicious Healthy Lunch with Q&A

 

The retreat is suitable for those who currently practice YOGA or for those who are new to YOGA who wish to explore what it can offer.

Beginners' Foundation Workshop - Learn Yoga Correctly (£25)

This workshop is an absolute must for those who have recently joined our Beginners’ classes or for those looking to start. The teachers at The Yoga Loft pride ourselves on our training and knowledge anatomically to ensure you’re in the correct alignment of the postures. We do those naturally in every class but the Workshop allows us a little more time to spend with you. Alignment of the poses is paramount to both avoid injury but to also get the full benefit of the postures. In the workshop, we break down each pose further and we will both verbally and physically get you to feel the correct alignment, which you can then incorporate into your own practice and classes.

We also spend more time teaching you the breathing technique of the Ujjayi breath, the technique we use during our classes. Again we break this down to teach you how to master it. Correct breathing technique is essential not only in the physical practice to keep oxygen to the muscles and an internal heat to the body but also to enable you to get more of the mindfulness and meditation of the yoga practice.

The session ends with refreshments and the opportunity for Q&A.

GONG BATH By Candlelight (Sound Healing) £20

Join us for a silent meditation and therapy using the amazing sound and vibrations of the gongs.

You'll arrive to a candlelit, silent studio & help yourself to some herbal tea or water. You'll then find your spot in the studio to lie using our blankets and bolsters to help cosy you up ready for the session.

The sound and vibrations of the GONGS playing work on a certain level of the brain waves and will take you into a deep meditation/different realm of which has healing qualities....

Alignment Yoga Workshop (£25)

The correct alignment when in Yoga Postures is fundamental and is something, we pride ourselves on the correct teaching of, here at The Yoga Loft. Whether you attend Ashtanga or Vinyasa Flow classes we would highly recommend you take the time to delve deeply into this workshop to really start to understand and connect with the anatomical mechanics and correct positioning of the postures.

Throughout our classes we always aim to teach correct alignment either in our verbal cues or physical adjustments but there is only so much that can be take on board in an hour’s class.

This workshop therefore is another opportunity for us to empower you to become more of your own teacher in your practice as you start to recognise and connect more with how things should feel in your body and in the postures.

Correct alignment is not only essential to avoid injury but it also unlocks blocks you may currently be experiencing in some postures which will then take you further in your practice, often it isn't that you can’t do postures its more the need to understand the technicalities of getting into the postures correctly and safely.
